About Georgia Lighting

Founded in 2020, the “new” Georgia Lighting pays homage to what was once the premier lighting showroom in the entire country. The original Georgia Lighting was founded in the 1960’s. They developed a stellar reputation for design and technical abilities that was the envy of other lighting showrooms. In the early 2000’s, The Home Depot acquired Georgia Lighting and its holdings, like the fine “World Imports” brand, and aimed to integrate it into their new Expo stores. Regrettably, when the last Expo store closed, Georgia Lighting effectively disappeared.

Back to 2020 I had been managing the Lighting division for Construction Resources (CR) for years. The most prized location, formerly known as Colonial Lighting, was at 120 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Sugar Hill. However, the global pandemic had CR revisiting its Lighting business model and locations. They found they could consolidate most of their business in their location in Decatur. I respectfully departed CR and took over the Sugar Hill location and redesigned it to maximize the new dynamics of today’s retail customers, interior designers, and upscale home builders.

After only eighteen months Georgia Lighting earned national recognition as Showroom of the Year at the industry’s 2022 Lighting convention in Dallas, Texas. Georgia Lighting even achieved finalist standing in the 2023 contest. It was a true honor to be in this rarified group of elite showrooms two years in a row, especially as a newer business!

Since 2020 Georgia Lighting has earned a reputation for being a dynamic showroom with a fun and energetic environment its customers repeatedly appreciate. Moreover, it’s evolved to become the place in the Atlanta area to see the greatest variety of light fixtures, ceiling fans, and home furnishings.

We continue to display the latest in design while answering to the traditional and transitional tastes of our market. And, while there’s an immediately upscale… but approachable… feel to the store, we truly have something for every style and every budget. Regarding budget, we show all our offerings at the manufacturers’ lowest allowable online pricing, which means you can rest assured you’re getting the best value at Georgia Lighting!

Once inside, you’ll find well over 1,000 of the latest lighting fixtures and fans. Of course, with nearly 300,000 items available, the showroom can only be part of the experience. Fortunately, what could be an overwhelming shopping experience is made easy at Georgia Lighting. Shoppers can scan a QR code on fixtures to see everything in a particular collection. For example, a 60” chandelier on display in gold might be available as a 32” chandelier in black, or even a four-light bath vanity fixture in polished nickel. Customers enjoy having this power at their fingertips, and further enjoy being able to shop on our site at a 55” touch-screen kiosk in the store, where they can get high-resolution images of items not shown in the store, and get real, friendly advice from our many lighting specialists. Those specialists can even show items larger on a special 82” screen. Truly the best combination of time-honored display techniques and state-of-the-art technology.

Whether shopping in-store on online, Georgia Lighting is your best choice for all your lighting and home décor needs. My entire team and I welcome you anytime!
